About Alejandro
Alejandro Castellano began playing rock guitar at age 14 He eventually began experimenting with different tunings and sound effects. At age 20, he studied classical guitar with the great New York based guitarist William Zito, student of the legendary Rey De La Torre.
With an interest in flamenco and Arabic music, Alejandro has developed his unique voice on the guitar studying and learning from some of the best players in these styles.
Alejandro leads his own band Indra where all his influences merge and are expressed in an original and authentic sound. Alejandro plays the classical guitar and the Arabic 'ud in the prestigious New York Arabic Orchestra led by master musician Bassam Saba. He also plays with the Tehran-Dakar Brothers.
With 10 years of experience as an educator, Alejandro teaches all styles of guitar to students of all ages and abilities throughout Queens,Manhattan, and Long Island. Please see the "Teaching" page for more details about his teaching.
